Documentary about the life and works of the famous Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564) – represented by film footage of the landscapes and cities in which Michelangelo worked. The focus is on Curt Oertel’s cinematic studies of his pictorial works, including detailed close-ups of his monumental statue of David as well as the ceiling and wall paintings in the Sistine Chapel of the Vatican.
