The accreditations for festival or festival und congress entitle the holder to attend all film screenings from 17.-26.11.2023 , the accreditation for conference entitles the holder to attend the film screenings on 22.-26.11. 2023.
Please pick up a free ticket with your accreditation badge at the box office before the performances.
You can get your accreditation card at the cinefest booth in the Metropolis cinema, starting 30 minutes before the first screening.

There are three options for accreditation: only for the film screenings of the festival (17.-26.11.2023), only for the conference (incl. the film screenings from 22.-26.11.2023), for festival and conference. For more information, see accreditation.

You can pick up your accreditation starting Saturday, 18.11.2023, half an hour before the film screenings at the cinefest booth in the Metropolis cinema. With your accreditation, you can then get a free ticket for the films at the box office before the screenings.
People that are accredited for the festival can also attend the opening event on 17.11.2023. You can get your free tickets at the box office.

Information about the event venues
The film screenings take place in Hamburg at the Metropolis Cinema (in the Metropolis House, Kleine Theaterstrasse 10, next to the State Opera, 20354 Hamburg).
The International Film History Conference takes place in the guest house of the university (Rothenbaumchaussee 34, 20148 Hamburg).
Following the event in Hamburg, parts of the film programme will be screened in Berlin (Zeughauskino), Prague (Národní filmový archiv), Udine/Gorizia (FilmForum), Wiesbaden (Murnau cinema) and Zurich (Filmpodium).

No, you can also buy tickets for the film screenings at the Metropolis Cinema box office. A ticket costs EUR 9.00 (6,00 Euro for members of CineGraph, members of Metropolis, children and teenagers up to the age of 16). Additional charges for excess length and musical accompaniment.

Yes, prior registration is necessary to attend the conferece.

Participation in the forums is open and free of charge to anyone interested. In order to have an overview of the participants, we ask you to register in advance.

There are many ways you can support the cinefest:
The easiest way is of course to attend the cinefest, watch lots of films and get other people excited about the cinefest.
You can also support the cinefest directly by sponsoring a cinefest film.
You can also support our work with donations (monetary or in-kind). You will receive a donation receipt for your tax return.
As a supporting member of CineGraph – Hamburgisches Center für Filmforschung e.V. (minimum contribution for private individuals 50 euros annually, for institutions 100 euros annually) you support the work of CineGraph and thus also the cinefest through a regular contribution. As a member, you will receive the cinefest catalogue free of charge and can be accredited at the cinefest at a reduced price.

With a film sponsorship, you can support a film from our program directly with your contribution. For as little as 350 euros, you can become a sponsor of a cinefest film. The sponsorship will be mentioned in the program flyer and at the film screening. You will also receive a free accreditation for the festival as well as invitations to the ceremonial opening of the festival and congress for you and an accompanying person.
With the amount of your payment, you decide which film from the programme you would like to support: The normal price is 350 euros, a special event (e.g. film with guest or silent film with live music accompaniment) costs 700 euros.
