“Russian film” from German production, shot in Berlin, the exterior shots were made in Lithuania: Ukrainian actor Nikolai Malikoff plays the sinister preacher Grigorij Rasputin, who makes it to the tsar’s court as an influencer and seducer, celebrates wild orgies there and finally falls victim to an intrigue.
