The USA trip of a journalist does not go as planned. First he doesn’t succeed in writing a story, then on his way home he meets Alice and her mother, who disappears without a trace. All that remains is the hope of finding Alice’s grandmother. Wim Wenders’ first road movie – photographed in black and white by Robby Müller – set the course for their further work together.
