Expelled from Germany by the Nazis, the Kosterlitz and Joachimson team transferred their recipe for snappy musical comedies to Hollywood. Hamburg writer Felix Joachimson/Jackson married the young star Deanna Durbin and later became one of the first TV producers. The film won an Oscar for its music and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture.
